The "Clavicula Compact" is the compact version of our super light race crankset, enabling you to use smaller chainrings. Technically identical with the standard “Clavicula”, it maintains the same record-breaking stiffness-to-weight ratio. Typical chainring combinations used with compact cranks are 34/48 or 36/50. While giving similar gear ratios to triple cranks, the smaller chainrings found on compact cranks yield a better chainline, better shifting and fewer doubled gears. In addition, the shorter spindle allows a greater lean angle in right hand turns. And last but certainly not least, many riders simply enjoy the compact crank’s better looks compared to triple cranks. As with our “Clavicula” the cranks are delivered without chainrings. The bolt circle diameter is a standard 110mm. A bottom bracket and mounting tools are supplied with the cranks.

The “Clavicula” is a revolutionary new design of an all-carbon crank. They are designed in close cooperation with the Cologne-based design-specialist formagic. New production methods, never before used for cranks, achieve a giant leap in total stiffness. The crank’s stiffness-to-weight ratio is setting new standards. In-house lab testing of various high-end cranks shows the superior performance of our crank system. The cranks are designed for road bike applications with a 130 mm or 110 mm bolt circle diameter and for 68 mm bottom bracket width. 170mm, 172.5 mm and 175 mm crank arms available. The sealed bearing bottom bracket attaches outside of the frame using the standard BSA threads. This design allows the use of larger diameter bearings and a wider bearing placement. In combination with the 30 mm diameter axle these modifications make for a very stiff drivetrain. Optional BB shells for Italian threaded frames now available upon request. Furthermore an adaption for the BB30 and the specialized system are available. Extensive testing of this ground-breaking invention was our top priority. We are currently undertaking various long term and stress tests, because as a pure-bred racing component the “Clavicula” must be able to continually withstand highest loads – be it in hard sprints or during the toughest classics. Both static and dynamic tests have been completed successfully. However, to aviod even the slightest risk we are currently setting a rider weight limit of 95 kg (207 lbs.). The “Scapula SP” answers the racers’ call for the lowest weight possible. At only 260 g the “Scapula SP” sets the limit of what is currently technically achievable. No other fork reaches the same low weight while providing unlimited racing performance with uncompromised safety. “Scapula SP”: SP is short for ‘sine pondere’, Latin ‘without weight’. Safety was our top priority during all stages of the design process despite all attention to weight. The “Scapula SP” underwent the same rigorous in-house and independent testing procedures as our regular fork. It came out after simulations of more than 100,000 km strong as on the first day. The fork’s stiffness is by far greater than average. Lateral stiffness, important for hard sprints and precise cornering, remains very high despite the low weight. For more detailed information read our » test reports section. Despite the superior stiffness we limit rider weight to 85 kg (187 lbs). Up to this limit the fork is ready to meet any challenge put out by road racing. We recommend the “Scapula” model for heavier riders. Comfort of the “Scapula SP” is improved a bit compared to the extremely stiff regular model. As comfort can only be had at the cost of reduced brake stiffness we chose to remain conservative. The “Scapula SP” is a pure-bred race fork with high shudder resistance. The secret behind the performance of the “Scapula SP” lies in the continuous carbon fibers all the way from the steerer down to the dropouts. Even the dropouts have a carbon fiber core. The wall thickness of steerer and fork legs varies continuously to provide an optimal stiffness-to-weight ratio. The elliptical interior shape is perfect to take on both large forces from direct-on hits as well as side loads. Minute attention to detail during the optimization process lead to sensationally low weight combined with superior stiffness.

The obvious advantage of the oversized handlebar is its middle section’s larger diameter. This results in a considerably stiffer handlebar. In addition to that, its wide and flat top makes for an ergonomic and comfortable grip when riding with your hands on the tops. The flat section design is also more aerodynamic than the round-section version with its larger frontal area. With its drop and reach of 138 mm and 95 mm respectively, this handlebar is also designed with ergonomics in mind for both the drop and the hood position. In addition to that, the handlebar comes with recessed cable grooves on its underside. The radiuses of the side parts follow the well proven design of the compact series. The drops effectively raise the brake hoods, the levers are easier to reach, with small hands in particular. When riding on the hoods the horizontal forward part of the drop makes for an unbroken line with the hoods. Our TLO series is manufactured to suit your weight and riding style using the best carbon fibre prepeg available (material). This, together with a further refined layering plan with less layers, results in yet another reduction of weight. The middle part of the handlebar is designed to work without the support of an aluminium tube. All our handlebars are designed to work with 4-bolt stems. These thin walled handlebars may be completed with our custom made oversize carbon bar plugs. Ordering Keep in mind that we measure our road bars from the outside to the outside. Our handlebars as standard are not made to be used with triathlon or time trial bars. If you want to use one of our bars with aero bars, please say so when placing the order. The necessary strengthening will add some 8 g to the bar’s weight (compare special handlebars). If desired, we can also custom make your bar with long ends. All our bars may be shortened at their ends by 10 mm. Trade customers, as a rule, are supplied with standard bars, that’s no time trial bar reinforcement and short bar ends. Fitting Mount the bar with the lower straight parallel to the floor. Tighten the stem bolts with a maximum torque of 5 Nm (not over 3.5 Nm with a Syntace F99 stem)! If you use our fitting paste supplied, the particles it contains will increase friction between bar and stem. A torque lower by 1.5 Nm will suffice to clamp the bar.
