About Me Casual/Recreational Rider

Comments:

Made in the USA, sturdy, quite, folds up for storage, life time warranty, and is $100 dollars cheaper than its competitor. What are you waiting for "get on your bikes and ride". The balancing learning curve is about two or three sessions, then you should have no problems riding non stop(without putting your foot down or holding the wall).

Perfect training - no boredom!

Comments:

These are my first set of rollers. I've gone through one rubber band so far, but I really enjoy rollers as an alternative to the trainer. When riding, I work on my position, cadence, focus. When I do workouts on the rollers, I feel like I've done a bit more for my riding than just turning the pedals around. The CycleOps rollers are very good. They are are relatively quiet, easy to fold, and even on a trainer mat they stay where they should and don't slide around. The roller diameter is suitable for a wide range of cadences, and I feel like the rollers are very easy on my tires. While I have little to compare them to, these were a very good investment and I'm glad I own them.

Indestructible and stable

Comments:

After years of use and abuse, my first set of rollers are still... rolling. The only thing that has worn out are the rubber feet on the base. These rollers are quiet and stable. The smother my pedal stroke the smoother the rollers feel. At the top end of my cadence the band starts to get a little noisy, but that isn't until 40-45 mph. That is not a pace I can hold for too long.

Great fun to ride

About Me Collegiate/Pro

Comments:

I have been using this roller for a year and cannot complain about its performance. Solid and durable. The only maintenance I did was drum's nuts retightening as they became a bit loose and caused a little vibration. Did it once and drums rolls nice and smooth. Great fun to ride. You need to concentrate on your balance and pedal all the time. I regulate resistance using my bike gears. I also control speed, mileage and cadence using magnet sensors. It's relatively quite so I do my trainings in front of TV watching favourite program. Overall very nice and simple training gear and a great substitution for road ride when the weather or day time is not right to go on the road. I would recommend this roller to anyone.

Comments:

I Bought these Rollers six months ago, They're Great would recommend as living in England the weather is so unpredictable, Would say get the Resistance as It does make a difference on you getting a good work out, Felt a bit apprehensive but a lot easier to use and now get a great buzz using them, Much better than a Turbo Trainer as just more interesting to use.

Excellent alternative, especially in lousy weather

About Me

Comments:

I had a trainer for years and I still occasionally use it, but the artificiality of it drives me nuts. The bike doesn't flex and move the way you expect it to. I bought these rollers to get back some of that real-road feel. Learning to ride rollers isn't easy, but well worth it. You can use the full range of your gears to create the resistance appropriate to your workout- low resistance recovery to high resistance intervals. The need to balance will help you become a more efficient rider too, and if you put mirrors on the wall you will be able to watch your form. As to these rollers, I've had them for 3 years. I have done nothing to maintain them and have had no problems. They are very stable and durable. They roll very smoothly and are well made. Additionally, they fold up easily and take up a negligible amount of space. Setting them up can sometimes be a little tricky because of the double knuckle joint between the two frame pieces, but this is to be expected.

Improve Your Form

Comments:

This is the third winter that I have had my rollers and I don't dread this time of year anymore. Not only do my rollers keep me from having to go out in the cold, wet, and/or windy weather; they also help me improve my balance, quicken my cadence, and smooth out my pedal stoke. Besides all that I can do high-intensity interval training (HITT) that a puddle under the bike and build strength in a fraction of the time a road workout would take. I still ride in the hallway (to feel a little more secure), but I'm hooked, for sure.

Sure helps when you can't go outside

Comments:

Bought the rollers without resistance about a month ago from my LBS. After about 15 minutes on the first ride I was pretty comfortable. It's pretty smooth but I develop a vibration at about 25 mph and up, not a problem but noticeable. I ride mostly on flat roads and I'd estimate that I'm 2-3 mph faster on the rollers at a similar effort level. Great for keeping in shape and they fold up very easily so they don't take up much space.

CycleOps Rollers

Comments:

I don't enjoy riding indoors, but the rollers make it bearable. I have had three different "trainers" and through out all the variations I come back to the rollers. These are smooth, quiet, and the diameter of the drum gives a good realistic ride feel. I have the magnetic resistance unit attached and have progressed up the resistance a bit, but there is plenty of harder settings if I should ever need them.

Balance and Control, Confidence for Pack Riding

By

About Me Competitive Cyclist

Comments:

I received my rollers last Christmas from my wife. I've used a trainer for years but it's been 20+ years since my last set of plastic drum rollers. I found the aluminum rollers to be very balanced and comfortable. For me rollers are the best way to ride smoothly and well-balance. They provide confidence for pack riding and racing unlike any other system.
